Castle Protective Shield?

Been walking all over this forest. I wonder how you get past the protective shield at the castle ruins?

I would have a word with the witches, the first witch you meet (with the pigs) will set you on the right path.

Thanks a ton I went back and talked to the cook and had to go dance with the wenches! Got it. Man this game rocks! One of the best games I've ever played.

Any recommendations for battle with Gamblack? Yes I sided with the Praiots (sp?) and not the witches. So far I have nearly won the battle a few times but can't seem to get past them in the end.

I used what's called "buffing" and "de-buffing" (sorry, don't know any better term for that) spells on both party members and the enemy, respectively.
