Question on Weapon Stats
I'm new to this game and the TDE rules, so here goes:
I have a 'Fighting staff', and the stat for damage reads: "1D+2 (1W+2 with strength 12)". It then goes on to say: "Strength Bonus: 12/4". I pretty much understand all this from the old D&D games, but in the first stat above what does the 'W' signify? Maybe someone could explain in relation to the entire weapon stats…? Thanks a lot. |
actually I don't think D&D knowledge will help you much here.
1D+2 is the same as 1W+2, it's just a translation glitch, basically 3-8 damage. Strength bonus 12/4 means that you get an extra +1 every 4 points of STR above 12 (so +1 at 16 STR). If you had 16 STR then the first line would have read (without the typo) "1D+2 (1D+3 with strength 16)" |
W = Würfel = D = Dice
German terms : 1W = 1 six-sided Würfel, sometimes only W Usually there's 1W20 or shortened to W20 meaning = one 20-sided Würfel |
Heh, same thing confuzed me too quite a bit. :)
Btw, this has been fixed in Fixpack. |

Not really something I want to do at this point… |
No, you don't need to start over actually and all localization fixes at least will be updated instantly. But of course you will some of the changes unless you start a new game.
