I can't speak to the quality of the combat in those games but I think we all remember how Arcanum tried to "give you choice" and ended up with a crap hybrid system.

We wouldn't have D&D without Tolkien. Certainly not in that time or form. Tolkien inspired 99% of everything fantasy related that came after LotR.

Odyssey is the best AC game by a country mile, if you ask me.

That said, I did actually prefer the setting of Origins overall.

I only wish we'd see a proper AC game…
