The graphic fidelity have nothing to do to how much time it take to make a game. Making artworks, designing systems, modeling stuff, creating special effects, coding combat moves, balancing, etc is what takes time. 2 men can't do in a year, what 30 did in 3 (or how long it took to make Titan Quest, Iron Lore might even have been bigger than 30 people).

I even think that one of them was working on Grim Dawn on spare time at the beginning. Since the kickstarter they increased to 4 or 6 people I think.
