Patch 1.2.2.0 has been released. Here's the patch log. Farflame spotted some news about the upcoming DLC:

Greetings Prophets and Prophetesses,

I originally posted this on my Facebook page, but I think it's relevant, so I'll share it here as well!

It's been a bit quiet lately, and some people have asked me whether the DLC project is still alive - let me reassure you, it absolutely is. The team is still working hard, and I'm trying to get work done whenever I can.

The main reason I haven't been able to contribute nearly as much as I would have liked to, is because I was offered a very good position as a writer for Grimlore Games in Munich, working on the recent instalment of the Spellforce series. It was meant to be part-time, but due to the insane work-load it became a full-time job (more than that actually, but luckily I get all overhours paid). I also work on the week-ends, so you can imagine that I have not been able to contribute as much as I would have wanted to. Also, I have gotten back into making music (a hobby which I almost entirely dropped for Enderal) and am investing a lot of time into my novel (of which I've already finished the first draft, 550 pages, and which will be done this year).

The good news is that the writing for the DLC is close to completion already, so that the team isn't running out of task anytime soon. The bad news is that I feel bad getting financial support from you guys while contributing so little to the actual project.

In other words: The DLC will take a little longer than planned, but it will definitely be released - we're continously making progress, just not as fast as we did when I worked 50-60 hours a week. I thought about sharing the Patreon income with these on the team who are still working as hard as before, but if any of you guys want to withdraw your pledges, I fully understand.

We'll keep you posted!
More information.

So, I took your money and updated my resume with it. Nice....This is why I will never back a game prior to release ever again.

hmm, did you miss where he said, "The bad news is that I feel bad getting financial support from you guys while contributing so little to the actual project."

The KS said that he'd be totally focused on this and needed the money so he wouldn't have to find work. Then, he went out and found a full-time plus job. So, he basically stole from the idiots who funded the KS. I find this highly amusing.

Well, one up for the Nut! I'm completely uninterested in Enderal (at least for now) so I didn't read the article. You are still a nut though :)

I loved Enderal, but the writer is a tool. :D

Whose tool? Or have you misspelled it horribly?

Am i thinking of a different game? Isn't this a mod for Skyrim? Did they do a KS and i missed it? I thought they took donations. I didn't see anything about actually funding the game.

There was a KS for this?

Anyway, this overhaul is excellent. It's just as good as Nehrim, which itself was better than most "real" RPGs. Def play both of them when you can.

Nowhere.
crpgnut was clearly killed in Skyrim and replaced by some babbling human puppet controled by evil magic from RPGCodex. :)

Bit of confusion here. The guy has a Patreon, not a KS. Some people support him to the tune of $244 total a month to work on the DLC. I don't think anyone imagines he'd been living on that and not working a day job. The expectations of a Patreon creator are quite different to a KS. He's also saying that his job has been consuming all his time and he's not making much progress on the DLC, so giving people the option to cancel their support. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Definitely reasonable. Considering he worked on Enderal for free to begin with, which in some ways is a bigger, more expansive and more ambitious RPG than a lot of paid developers work on, it's more than reasonable.
