Dragon Age I the most shity game ever

Is it codexian or codexish? Or perhaps codexic? I can never remember… ;)
My vote is on the one that rhymes with "toxic".

Well that's one hell of an introduction Dinos...usually people go all the way up there, ↑↑↑ , and say something all warm and mellow, but not bad, not bad at all. ;)

Regarding what he says, I disagree. Dragon Age Inquisition can't be the worst game ever made. A lot of other candidates comes to mind.

Yeah, agreed. You can't have played many games, or are extremely picky about what you play, if you think DA:I is the worst game ever. I mean, at least it works... That gives it a leg up on many other games.

Worst game ever?

Not a big fan of DA:I but it's not even the worst game in the DA series.

Uhhh... yeah... maybe you should try asking just how many RPGs I've played before making an assumption like that. Hint: I know how to use the magic dot to find Warren Robinett's signature.

I'm tooting my own horn but if we exclude P&P RPG's i think i have played more RPG's than anyone else here in a 20 year time frame. Especially on PC.

Unless you are The CRPG Addict, that's a mighty bold claim around these parts. If you are then I'm truly sorry for all of the dreck you have played through to date. Anyway, the a fore mentioned seems to indicate Dungeon is the worst RPG to date. Alas, DA:O is not in the list yet so no comparison but I suspect DA:O will come out ahead in that match up.

I also have to point out, that while i buy and play the games, if i dont like the game, i stop playing it. But that counts as having played the game right?

If I were to count every game I've "played", no matter how briefly, then we're easily talking about a four digit number.

I think that is something you can't possibly know.

pibbur who is sure that he has played fewer RPG's than many watchers. However, he has big plans for his upcoming (prtial) retirement.

One notable example: Might and Magic IX (the game which according to good ol' dte should not be mentioned in polite circles). It's the most buggy game I've ever played.

pibbur who has to mention that it's also the most buggy game he has completed, which he's sure says something, but doesn't know what.

…sorry for my bad English pls show some understanding :)

Sure, not everyone is a natural English user. But, sad to say, it makes reading and understanding what you write hard (at least to me), so I guess many just won't bother reading your posts.

I would recommend that you carefully review your writing before posting it. Many errors, like "believeme" in stead of "believe me" should be easily avoidable.

pibbur who should follow the same advice, becaus of his sometimes embarassing tyos - as illustrated.

PS. Welcome to the watch. DS.

I agree the guy has pretty weak communication skills and it's no great leap to think a codexer might be out for lolz, but it might just be someone who played a shitty game and then looked for somewhere to vent. I've done that in the past with games, as in played something, been disgusted by something, searched google for a related forum about it, reeled off a stack of hatred. These things happen.

With this site there does seem to be a very predictable contingent who respond to these kind of posts in a sort of unified and predictable way, as if certain forms of posts are like respawning monsters in a Wizardry game that need to be killed by a turn-based blob of the 4-6 predictable poster team.

Dragon Age 3 is not a game which inspires polite conversation. Its not a game which inspires very much gameplay conversation. Like Dragon Age 2 before it its a game which inspires vitriol and mockery because its asking for it, one because it was shoddily made and the other because it was such a departure from series expectations and that those departures were themselves laughable silly.

Of course personal taste is going to effect someone's appreciation of a game. Of course there will be elements of the game that will be ok. Of course there will exist someone on this earth who thinks its their favourite game. But this is a site which is supposed to attract RPG specialist fans. People who, when offered a group of games to play, will first take interest in the RPG that is on offer out of the bunch. And I dunno about you but you would have thought that Dragon Age 3 would be exactly the kind of game that would likely get more stick on an RPG forum than a general gaming forum. Especially a gaming forum which is dedicated to PC RPGs more than console RPGs.

I really don't think it would have mattered how politely or well spoken the guy was, I think the same team blob would have been out in force no matter how the guy vented.

In the middle of your second play-through!?

Whenever one gets that moment of clarity.

Ex-addicts very often become the strongest attackers of whatever they were once addicted to. Some people take years to formalise a divorce, and even then still go back to their spouse after all kinds of rants have taken place. A movie watched once might not hold-up upon second viewing for any number of reasons. Sometimes something is so bad one gets obsessed to find out exactly how bad in more detail, the essence of anyone motivated to bring cases to attention. A bit like how some people get this morbid desire to spend god knows how many hours in that appalling game No Man's Sky for no other reason than they wanted to find out just how crap the game was at the centre of the universe, so they could mock it more.

I mean, let's imagine one as a gamer who has a mild OCD for finishing games and is not too fussed about the quality of a game, hell it doesn't matter if its a flash game, a steam greenlight, an indie or a triple A or an arcade machine, they just get so consumed about completing a game once started they go blind to things like quality and rationality. Such a person could complete a game like No Man's Sky and claim meh, it's just a game, nothing really to complain about, but, on a second play through, without that tunnel vision desire to complete dumb objectives, could well suddenly see the game for the vapid, empty, soul destroying mess it is.

Don't you agree?

I can only speak for myself, but I've never done that in 30+ years of gaming.

I've replayed some games years later and came to the conclusion that they didn't age well, but I've never hated a game that I enjoyed to begin with.
