The ever-popular "Currently Listening" thread

from zero to obsessed, my new drug: Chelsea Wolfe
I couldnt really understand at first, then after a couple listens it just clicked.
I like industrial, but have never been one for "noisey" type of blurry music, this stuff is something else, it just blends and so many layers. Over and over in my head today, I bought two of her albums

Chelsea Wolfe "House of Metal"

Going to see the Grave Babies in a few at a local club, really sorta interesting goth/shoegaze/weirdo mix of something or the other. Need to see these guys, the videos and sound of this band are off the damn chain

Grave Babies: skulls

Grave Babies :f## off

I "watched" the vid House of metal and was meh... then I listened to Winter and now that'll be instabuy when I find the album. Thanks for sharing ! That's why such a thread is precious, to help discovering new things and sometimes even things we usually would never discover elsewhere.

Decent stuff, Sammy. With you working the "milder" side of your tastes these days, I really think you could go to projekt.com and spend some quality time sampling what's out there. In addition to bands Sam actually reps, he brings in a lot of stuff from all corners so there's lots to sample and a fair bit of it is quite good.

I'll give you a starting point or two:
Mercury's Antenna
The Machine in the Garden

thanks for the referrals, DTE. Having some fun exploring a lot of stuff I've never really even considered, Ive been keeping away from metal at home lately...

...but still keeping the metal going in the truck, pumping me up for the day ahead generally rolling w/ metal in the mornings. Mercyful Fate's "In the Shadows" is a fun old school metal epic

Septic Flesh-Titan. Great album, great atmosphere. They surpassed themselves once more. Prototype, Dogma and Prometheus are especially blast. Orchestra performances are superb. I recommend this album to all the metal heads who are reading this.

good ol type O, love it when they go full-on droney glacial sludgy doom like they do around 2:45.
All hallows Eve is definitely my favorite by them, I really like it when Peter goes "full count dracula" with his pronunciation, rolling the R and all that. Definitely a missed vocalist

Yes they are it's a shame the lead vocalist Peter Steele passed away. I have every music CD the band made, and can't pick a favorite as I love most of them.

Here are a few songs some of you might like.

2. September Sun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n67NHhfWUCM

Blue Magic - Mystic Dragons. Amazing album. My favorite song is Spark of Love. Get it on vinyl for a few bucks, well worth it.

A new Opeth album: "Pale Communion", one of the albums I've really waited for this year (along with the new Anathema which was great, and the new Yes which was a disappointment). Like the predecessor "Heritage", it's not a metal album, and only clean singing. But it's in my ears a very good prog rock album.

Here's:

pibbur who llikes Opeth both as a prog-death-metal band and prog rock band.
