What a great idea, I'd love to see my government fund my development

There is currently government funding of a sort, it's more tax breaks for devs but it's still money.

We will have to agree to disagree about that one.

Skyrim and KoA are very different games despite being in the RPG genre.

KoA is a combat oriented RPG set in a directed world while Skyrim is more open sand-box (or as I read somebody put it - "a hiking simulator" ).

Yup. KoA is an "RPG Beat'em Up". It's an ABOMINATION! I jest. It is a shame though, I actually like the RPG aspects of it and the world/lore seems like it could be interesting, but I cannot stand the arcade beat'em up style combat. I don't play RPGs for their combo moves. Just my personal preference of course.
