A new patch for Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods is out, taking it to version 1.08.9. Here's a list of mirrors (thanks, Blue's):

- Voice over issues fixed
- Improved Combat / NPC Balancing
- Improved Item value balancing

Well I tried the german one and it really improves the experience....
The old Quest items are gone and the performance is much better.
I can only recommend trying it before throwing Forsaken Gods in the trash bin.....

can someone tell me if the patches are all incremental? i counted about 4 different patches but i can't believe the numbering, from v1.1 they go to v1.06 and so on.

A new patch is already in testing. Maybe you should wait for it.

Decreasing version numbers of patches would be compatible to the overall perception of the quality of this game.

But I am always optimistic and would be happy to be disappointed in a positive way. Therefore my questions:

Did you play much of the game? How do you like it? Can you compare it with Gothic 1, 2 or 3?

@bkrueger: i haven't played the game yet but if it reaches any degree of stability before either Risen or Gothic 4 is released then i might take it for a spin. thus my original question..
