Some Monty Python Etcetera

Since we're all going to have lots of time on our hands either now or in the near future, here's a thread that could only be made or found interesting by people with lots of time on their hands.

Monty Python's other stuff.

Firstly, just out of curiosity, I've dug through IMDB to find out which computer games the various members of MP have appeared in, with some quite interesting results.

Secondly, I've done a top 11 Pythonesque films for anyone who's worn out all the regular MP stuff and would like to wallow in the genre some more or just see the kinds of good stuff they did together after or alongside MP. Movies ranked purely by how many Pythons were involved in the production and how many are on show generally. Does not include the many cool movies where only one Python is present. Cinema releases only, no TV movies.

So Cleese is certainly the most gamer friendly MPer, though I'd argue Eric Idle's Rincewind from Discworld is still the most memorably iconic of the lot. Look at all those RPGs in Cleese's library tho!

Ah yes, of course, there's all the TV etcetera as well, though even for me that would have made the OP waaaay too long, lol, but I shall still be enjoying that content if it arrives

You forgot Gilliam's The Fisher King. Not a bad flick.

I didn't forget it, no Pythons appear in it, you'll have to read the rules again.

Bah. Didn't Gilliam give himself a cameo? I'm not sure at all, but I'm going with that...

Even if he did, it would still only make a single Python, to which that would probably make it something like 35th most Pythonesque movie, lol.

I do agree it's a great film though. One of those film you have to be in a specific mood for to watch though as it's very slow, intelligent, atmospheric with a hint of manic depression. Not for those who are already close to the edge and in reach of sharp objects or lengthy twine and the like.

Guess I can't mention maybe my favorite, 12 Monkeys, too.

Yellowbeard also has the famous Marty Feldman in it. He died close to the end of the making.

Video games : "Monty Python's Complete Wate Of Time" - that can be called a "video game", that is. ;D

Yellowbeard was definitely a good one. That and Brazil (which is more serious) would be tops on my list.

I am currently watching "A full circle", one of many traveling documentaries by Michael Palin (1997).

Also there is the german Game "Biing!" which is an hospital management simulation.
It's for adults, contains lots of nudity, but got very good scores in professional press and is pretty well made and has a good and challenging economy system.
I doubt that they asked MP for permission though.
Besides of the humor and the name, which refers to the machine which does "Biing!", it uses a sound snippet "and now to something completely different" after the intro...which has nothing to do with the game at all.

In our firm there works someone having almost the same look and face. He is a really nice person, very, very funny. Lots of good humour !

You'd almost have to be.
