This statement holds very true. I believe there are a great amount of people who would love DS2, but skipped it due to their experiences with DS. It's a bit like Divine Divinity, which many skipped since it looks like Diablo.

So at least I can repeat my message to RPGWatch... I wont say that DS2 is the best RPG ever made... But if one enjoyed a game like Icewind Dale, then one should definitely check it out. The combat is like DS... there's alot of wading through hordes of monsters. But Dungeon Siege II is so focused on fleshing out it's world, that reading "Lore" and "Bestiary" is almost like reading a whole campaign setting for a pen-and-paper roleplaying game.
