Gigazine is covering a mysterious Dragon Quest Press Event at Tokyo's Park Hyatt hotel. It's due to start in 30 mins or so.

Based on the schedule, it looks like they'll be announcing a new game, including staff, etc.

Okay… Dragon Quest IX will be hitting Japan on 28th March 2009, for 5980yen. The game finally has a release date! Yay. Looks like the announcement isn't really major………

Looks like their claim that they will support the highest userbase is still true today. And finally a good reason to keep my Wii.

I'm confused, is it DQ 9 or 10? The last Dragon Quest game that was released afaik was DQ 8 on the PS2. I have a copy but never played it.

DQ 9 is on the DS and DQ10 is on the Wii. DQ 9 is the one that has pics on the website i linked. DQ 10 has just been decided to be on the Wii.
