Default NWN2 - v1.22 on Wednesday?

February 25th, 2009, 01:20
From Rob McGinnis on the NWN2 v1.22 patch:
Atari has asked for some additional time for testing. The main patch should be released on Wednesday if they approve it.
More information.

And I expect Mysteries of Westgate will surface soon after. Having played some of this when it was in beta, I think this will appeal to many of those who were unsatisfied with the lack of story in SoZ.

In case anyone cares, 1.22 is *required* for MoW, meaning that for Mac users there will not be any possibility of a 'hack-around' as we managed for MotB and SoZ … and I'm looking into rumors that the Mac NWN2 development is dead, so it is possible we'll *never* get the 1.22.

Do you have link for the Mac hack-around?

Sure - head over here.

NWN2 already runs like crap on the Mac (tested on a Macbook Pro on Mac and BootCamp), and this solution is kludgy at best.

I could care less about the patch itself, but I'm delighted if it means that Mysteries of Westgate is leaving Duke Nukem Forever country and finally joining us.

Do you mean it runs like crap in OS X, or it runs like crap both in OS X and in Windows with BootCamp?

What I mean is the OS X version runs like crap. The Windows version, running on the WinXP partition of a BootCamp Macbook Pro* runs much better in a side-by-side test I did.

* (not my newest one, the one from last year),
