It is an awesome trailer and no MM music either, which was nice (at least not that I could tell).

wow, that was cool. Fantasy Porn if I've ever see it, I was loosening my collar here!
I liked that suicide bomber spell she pulled on that one Darkspawn, pretty funny

Very nice cinematic and smooth combat animation, although i would have preferred the dragon kicked everyone else arse. Dragon supposed to be one of the strongest enemies in many fantasy / D&D games.

OK, now I know I'm getting old. When the mage gal was complaining about the cold while flaunting her cleavage, I just had to yell out "so put on a sweater!"
Incredible trailer, though! Saving that one for sure!

as trailers keep getting (just graphically) cooler (crystal clear where the budget went), the actual game appears to be shittier every day, as they disclose any additional brag-thing.
short stories vs. hollypoop trailers, guess who wins in the end. but still, how many will keep chewing hollypoop for f's sake.

this trailer says absolutley nothing about the game itself.
its nice to look at, but its not the game.
thers no jumping, no flik flacs and morphing in midair,no button for stabbing orcs in the eyes and no propably no "one hitting" enemys.

Not that I necessarily support that direction, but it's been the case for decades and as you sound like you're targeting DA:O specifically with your critique - it's only fair to point out how it's 100% par for the course.

cant help but thinking of how much in-game content, bug fixes and graphical improvements they could have done instead of this video which probably took them months.. haha im such a pessimist

Very cool.
These trailers are killing me. I just can't wait for this to be released.

True.. However the costs associated with producing it could have gone into game development. Marketing is important though.

According to Desslock, the actual fight in game is just as epic:
In other news, the fight with the dragon that the most recent trailer depicted actually looks almost as epic in game:

….I don't think you have to worry about dragons not being strong enough in the actual game. They make BG2's dragons looking like overgrown iguanas -- this is an actual combat sceneDragon Fight In game
Any mage can acquire any spells, so you can transition them to any role you want. But there's so much variety that you'll want to try out different branches -- I mixed my party up a lot because I like a variety of challenges and wanted to see as many interactions as possible, but when I wanted to get shit done and deal with big battles, I generally had 2 mages (both of whom could provide healing but different offensive capabilities), a warrior and my main character Rogue.Hmmm a rogue main char. I wonder if there will be a rogue NPC that you can pick up in game as well.
I love magic in this game - like Dragon Age in general, it's essentially "freestyle D&D" --- without legacy baggage and billions of redundant spells that basically do the same thing. And you can't just spam your most powerful area of effect spells because they have cool-down periods that are very well-balanced to reflect their potency.
I much prefer BioWare's character development/magic systems to 4th Edition D&D, for instance, even though I think they had a lot of common goals for how to evolve a fantasy RPG beyond the limitations of older editions of D&D and similar games.

I mean, as "mature" as the modern audience is - I simply can't accept that the crap we've witnessed in the "shit" marketing campaign is going to have a more beneficial effect than a less ridiculous and more considered campaign.
But what do I know.

Marketing is important i guess, but still.. i think marketing can be done with just showing of the gameplay, if the game is good enough.. personally i never buy games based on seeing cool/expensive looking CGI trailers, it doesnt help me getting hyped either.

On the trailer itself I thought the dragon went down very easily. Eventhough it's fantasy and I know it's not realistic but it feels like a dragon should be harder to kill. I would have liked to see it eat and barbeque a few of the main characters.
