Green crystal at the entrance to the monastery

Im in Chapter 2, so this may be explained later, but im wondering what the green crystal under the entrance to the monastery is for. I've seen tons of glowing crystals in caves and stuff, but this is the only one outside (afaik) and the only one i've found that allows some form of interaction, though all that happens is the character saying something like "OMGZ Its glowing!!!" or something.

If you dont know what i'm talking about go to the entrance to the monastery and look out toward the ocean. At the right corner of the landing you can look down and see it.

Some are antimagic crystals iirc. They stop you from levitating, etc.

I'll try to do some magic there later and see what happens
