Majesty II

I think I'm going to win this scenerio when I get home. Right now I managed to keep both the paladins and elves at bay while building all of the guilds and getting a few levels for my guys. What I did was put all the guilds in the southeast corner as close to the fog of war as possible and then built my market right next to the trade goods.
When that was done I built as many towers as I could in the southwest and north. Built a mage guild then more magic towers. Then upgraded my castle, built a blacksmith, upgraded it, built a dwarven home, then I got the big daddy dwarven towers. Set two up to the southwest and two to the north. Now those stupid paladins and elves drop like flies when they come near.
The key was surviving long enough to get those dwarven towers(not as easy as it souds).
Now I'm just wrapping up this scenrio by exploring any unexplored areas and building a few temples, to Krypta of course, those damn paladins are going to wish they've never been born after my priestess gets through with them.

yeah, i found the key to this one was dwarven towers (as much as I loathe towering, to me it's kinda cheap) and ranged units. Once you can roll out a few wizards and group them up so they dont melt, youre cooking w/ grease. Just dont forget to get them the ice spell!

Evil children! Naughty children!
No new shiny until King's Bounty is done, dte, and that's final. Pay no attention to all the fun those kids are having.

I can't help it, this game is just too fun. King's Bounty will just have to wait. I've already ordered Majesty 1. It'll be here in a few weeks. I can't believe I've never heard of this game before Sammy posted info on it.
@Sammy I just pretended that scenerio was a Tower Defense game and had to keep the hordes back.

I know … I have Majesty 1 in my GamersGate account now, but need to play too much other stuff … and just won Elven Legacy: Ranger on Twitter today as well as getting a review copy, so that is beckoning …

So, I did my install again. The install goes smoothly, but when I fire up it pukes. the title splash shows for a bit and then I get a fatal error. Anyone know the answer or a Majesty1 troubleshooting forum?

I had that as well.
It disappeared after I uninstalled unused codecs and older SecuRom-driven games.
I don't really know how I managed it.

DTE, I still haven't received my copy yet or I'd tell you if my copy was working or not. It's a good thing I really like the owner where I buy my games or I would of jumped ship along time ago. I did make sure today that Dragon Age would be available this week and we're good to go for that at least
I did a quick search and came up with this (if you have vista):
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/…d.php?t=379793
From all the google topics I saw, it seems that Vista SP2 and Majesty do not like each other at all
Found this if you have Winxp:

I tried everything in the XP thread, but no luck for me.
Thanks for trying, Skav. I did discover, as part of the process, that I hadn't done the video driver dance in over a year, so I suppose it wasn't a complete washout.

Here is some info on it for all you wanna be kings out there:
Starting off the Paradox Interactive Convention 2010, Paradox Interactive is proud to unveil Majesty 2: Kingmaker, the first expansion to the heralded fantasy strategy title, Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. I didn't have any problems running Majesty on my machine, but I haven't played it very much either. I still have too much on my plate right now.
Coming soon for download on all major digital distribution portals, Majesty 2: Kingmaker will offer players the opportunity to create new magic in the land of Ardania with eight additional story missions. To restore peace to Ardania, the bravest of warriors must rise up and protect the kingdom from the terrifying green menaces of the night.

While I'm happy that theyve announced something, I wish it was more than "get ready for a bunch more scenarios where we attack you even earlier and give you even less resources".
That's pretty much all theyre tellin us here

You jaded little pussy cat
Well, you have been playing it a lot longer than I have so I guess you have a right.
For me, Majesty II just oozed fun. I like Sims games, but they are always missing something. Now I know. they are missing DRAGONS!!!! Oh and mice kings who can't resist a good gouda.
Since it's all relatively new for me extra missions sounds pretty good, but I would of liked something more as well. A few more characters or what not. Not sure what kind of magic they added. That might be interesting.

Maybe theyre gonna finally throw us a few things the community has been clamoring for since the beginning. Like the ability to continue playing after a mission is done, and free-play mode, for example.
I hope we get to add a couple new citizens to the roster, that'd really make me happy tiger
