notebook's fans

So, I have a fan on the bottom of notebook. Had it in my old one as well. All the time I try not to cover fan to not overheat computer. My question is - will it really overheat? Or are these fans okay without that hole anyway? Because it's sometimes annoying.
PS. Does netbooks have fans too?

Yeah, that fan makes a difference. If the hole is on the bottom and you set it on the wrong surface (like a pillow, for example), it will overheat.

Yep it makes a difference, you should pay attention to your notebook's temperatures cause they do matter.

Thanks.
Anyway why this shitty notebook setup is so popular? They never used computer in bed or on legs? Shit.

Also, it's bad to keep it in your lap for extended periods of time if you're a guy. A lot of heat can be bad for your balls!

I use a Logitech stand thingy - it protects me from the heat and provides a flat, hard surface so the fan has air flow.
Netbooks have fans but they don't generate as much heat (in general) because they aren't as powerful. A netbook won't play many modern games, for example, so it depends on what you want.

No, I haven't had a problem with it personally. I've read that it can decrease sperm count or something like that. It was a few years ago so I don't remember details such as if the damage can be permanent.
