Radon Labs - Drakensang 3 Confirmed?
April 28th, 2010, 08:11
According to GameStar, Drakensang 3 was confirmed by Radon Labs at a recent German trade show called Making Games Talents 2010. We're not likely to hear any more for a while with the Phileasson's Secret addon yet to come for DraSa2, so it's very, very early days.

Drakensang 3…pfft. I'd be happy if we got to play DraSa2. When is that coming out in english? How long can it take to translate a game? DraSa1 wasn't even voiced if i remember correctly. Or is that what's taking so long, they are doing full voice acting for 2?

Wow they're really milking it, aren't they?
I still have to play the first one (and I admit, the demo actually dissuaded to buy it even though it's only 20 euros…), not to mention I didn't even play the 2nd one's demo.

Roughly estimated, the popularity status of TDE is in Germany about the same as (A)&D elsewhere.
If they could do 3 Realms Of arcania games, then i have no doubt this would be possible, too.
Plus, there are a few newer, otherwise interesting TDE setings (some of them are still in progress) of hich the international audince knows nothing about.
Like the "Dark Times" setting (about 1000 years before the both current Drakensang games) and the south continent called "Uthuria".
And of course Myranor/Gyldenland, but that's too much offshoot, I guess.

I don't think that they will do a computer game in Uthuria in the near future. There is absolutely no background. And there will be no background until the campaign discovering Uthuria is published and a certain number of players has played it. They want to build the official background on the way most players solved the campaigns…

Damnit! I also haven't played the first one yet. I really have a LOT of catching up to do…

Heh, whatever works so long as they keep deepening and improving on each Drakensang release in turn. From all accounts, if the expansion keeps to this, they'll be on track.
I still say/am right to think there's a good well to draw from for a Roguelike set about Dark Eye sensibilities on the whole. I wonder if they will ever do something OGL comparable like which allows Knights of the Chalice and, kinda, Incursion, to exist on the D&D side?

I just mentioned it to show that there are other settings/regions besides Aventuria, too.

Great news, and exactly the right time, since I just finished no. 2 for the first time. Great game.
But now I have to play on, since I still have some side quests open (love that you can play on after finishing the main quest and having seen the credits roll …)

There was a Drak 2?
Not released in U.S. yet, I guess?

I recently played through Drakensang 2 and it was a vastly superior experience to Drakensang 1, so I´m thankful if Radon Labs keep churning out sequels and if possible keep improving …….

I have had a similar experience with Drakensang 2. I was very finely entertained.
I finished it the evening/night just before the RPC.
The world is fairly open - in contrast to the first Drakensang game, where one couldn't re-visit areas anymore.
In Drakensang 2, there are only very, very few areas which cannot be revisited, caves and similar structures, mainly.
