Fall from Heaven 2

Has anyone else played this? It's a total conversion Civ 4 mod that sets it in a fantasy world so possibly of interest to some on here, it had completely passed me by until I saw a screenshot of it on the Elemental blog listing it as one of the inspirations.
Only just started playing it this morning but it looks really interesting, about 16 different civilisations each with their own units and tech trees and spell options along with heroes etc.
Here has a good review of it.

How is the combat, is it regular civ stack style, or have they changed it to be more tactical as in Master of Magic or Age of Wonders?

To sum it up, I feel our space program ended up like this. "It's one small step for man. One giant leap for man kind. Oops I fell on my butt after that leap and can't get up anymore."

It's basically still Civ 4 at the core, but all fantasy based (fantasy units, realms, leader abilities, 'tech', etc). The changes are deep enough so it feels like playing a very different game, just with the same interface. It's hard though.
