I think I remmeber something that allows you to turn off quest help. I'm guessing that is part of it. It was in the demo from a few days ago, so I'm guessing its going to be in the final game.
From what I heard through the normal videos on youtube and gametrailers, they are trying to keep it as "harcore" as possible without excluding newer players.
