Default Arcania: FoS - Screens, Release Date?

February 15th, 2011, 01:04
According to Worthplaying, Arcania: Fall of Setarrif will be released on March 25th, which seems a fairly fast turnaround for a struggling publisher. Head over for two new screenshots.
More information.

Official PR:

Vienna, Austria, February 14th 2011; JoWooD Entertainment and Spellbound Entertainment announce that the official AddOn for ArcaniA - Gothic 4 will be launched on March 25th 2011. „Fall of Setarrif” brings an all new adventure to the ArcaniA Universe - for the very first time players can experience the compelling storyline from a different character’s point of view!

Game Overview
A new threat casts its shadow over the Southern Isles. A mysterious demon, consumed by hatred, terrifies the population and pools his force against the coastal city of Setarrif. The dramatic situation exacerbates after a volcanic eruption in the mountains nearby. Thereupon the nameless hero joins forces with his strongest allies and courageously faces the new menace.

„We will be releasing some exclusive assets earlier on our Facebook page the next few weeks“, says Manuel Karl, Community Manager JoWooD. „Fans on our page will get a sneak preview and can provide me with direct feedback or ask me any questions they have. Especially the possibility to experience the story from up to four of your allies’ point of view makes it an exciting experience and has already caused many fans to get intrigued by the Add-On.“

Features

10+ hours of new compelling game play

Experience and fight as each of your famous allies, utilising their unique skillset

Battle all new enemies & monsters and hone your combat skills with new items & weapons

Discover new environments such as jungles, the volcanic mountains, Setarrif & the coastal regions

Import your character from ArcaniA - Gothic 4 or choose a predefined archetype

Yay It'll be interesting to see if any of the shortcomings have been addressed.

I have a feeling Diego et al were supposed to be playable characters in G1.

I'd buy Gothic 4 and this expansion if I was allowed to lock the mouse so that when I turned the mouse right and left my character turned right and left. Like Risen. It seems silly, but that is the only thing that makes it not fun to play for me.

Yes the writing and game mechanics were. The game is gorgeous theirs no doubt about that. Its nice to get the cutout game content that was yanked out of the game.

They're obviously trying to salvage the situation by pushing this add-on out the door long before it's actually done.

I'm currently playing Arcania. It's such a shadow of its former self (prior gothic games). I will probably finish the game, but I find that I'm never really that excited to sit down and play it. Finished Divinity 2 DKS a few weeks back and while playing that game I was always looking forward to my play time. Doubtfull I'll buy this expansion.
