Not directly related to the topic of the current thread, but relevant for mathematics. And Corwin will appreciate it:
Slide rules (why learning to use one could be valuable even today)

Just to clarify: When everyone is talking about calculators they do think of the graphical ones like that and not about normal ones like this one?
Because I use my calculator (the normal one) on a fairly regular basis (every day) and I have no idea how to work without one.
The graphical ones are strange though, I never used one seriously.

Are we talking in-fix, mid-fix, or post-fix? Because I have three answers, not just two.
And who doesn't use the division symbol. The only people use / these days is because its the only on their keyboard. I don't think the asterisk was ever universally accepted - typewriter people always used an 'x'.

Here we are, with a perfectly good mathematics thread, and some of you prefer to dwell on things of a sexual nature. Transsexual, even.
For shame, Watch. For shame.
P.S. I'm all man. Ask anyone where I come from.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. Mightily. It's been a few decades since my last confession, so we might be here a while.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

I'm not "of the cloth" when I'm over here. So deal with your sins on your own, pal.

Well, Corwin has some, errr, issues with Catholicism so it's probably to be expected that he won't be 100% efficient doing a traditional Catholic confession, Thrasher. And that's before we even consider that he's working with an epicly fallen Catholic such as yours truly… Garbage in, garbage out, doncha know.
