I'm a bit worried about Jason Momoa playing the lead. I think he's cool and he looks the part but watching him in Stargate Atlantis where he plays a guy from another planet, his performance is very contemporary, exactly if he was just a guy from 21st century LA. If he does the same with Conan it's going to be awful.

I just wish Hollywood would actually get an imagination more often. I am so tired of remakes. Although I have not yet seen the newest Planet of the Apes movie, I want to see different stories of a given title, like this, rather than just a remake of it.

I've seen both rise of the planet of the Apes and Conan. The former is a fairly good movie (but not great and a bit over-hyped) with excellent special effects, while Conan was absolutely horrible and is deservedly a huge box office lemon.

The original Conan holds up just fine and Arnold did it perfectly. …And the bombastic soundtrack is legend. This you can trust…. …crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women.

Here is the answer to anybody who asks how is the movie.
With lavish sets, an exotic filming location, and a hunky lead star (Jason Momoa), Conan: the Barbarian was supposed to be a hit, the start of a whole new franchise based on Robert E. Howard's iconic barbarian. Instead, earning a meager $10 million its opening weekend on a $90 million budget, the movie is already in consideration for "biggest bomb of 2011."Its the biggest flop this summer. Sad to say you wont see anymore Conan films for a while again.
