aka lghartveit.
I don't know if I've introduced myself. If not here it is (feel free to stop reading):
1. Level 54 Norwegian, living on the west coast of Norway.
2. Originally educated as physician. Discovered I really disliked treating patient. So went back to uni and studied computer science. Now I develop software integration solutions at an IT department serving a group of hospitals.
3. Political views: left-wing. Proabably far left wing in the eyes of some of you.
4. Religion (since that seems to pop up once in a while). I do believe in Christ, but I'm less conservative than some of you. (I'm no creationist)
5. Family: Married (30 years). Two daughters at level 29 and 27.
6. Hobbies (apart from games): Drawing and painting, playing guitar. Actually, in 2009 I take 6 months partial leave (80%) from work to concentrate on drawing, painting and … playing my guitar.
7. Favourite computer game: Planescape: Tormant, followed by Ultima 7, Morrowind and the Avernum series. And I actuallly liked Oblivion. Very much.
Why I like RPGwatch: The amount of information, and the level of maturity. BTW, I notcied that one of the recent threads allegedly turned into a flamewar. If so, it's the first time I've seen a flamewar without the words "retard", "idiot", "f***tard" and so on.
And the name pibbur comes from an email address I once had - the service provider created mail adresses according to the following formula: <forename>.<surname>.<code>@eposten.no. "Pibbur13" was my code word. I liked it, so that's my chosen name for most of my male rpg characters. And it's also my chosen dragon name on Ultima Dragons.

Welcome to the Watch. Always good to see another mature soul here. Age is not the issue it is the behavior and all the members here are great. And I envy your partial leave goals. Have fun and make the most of that.

Also welcome--though I've already read and enjoyed your POV in many of your posts and have always appreciated your avatar.
And for those who are too shy to come right out and post about themselves--you can go into your profile in the User CP menu and enter anything you'd like the rest of us to know about you. This makes it easy for you to introduce yourself and describe your interests without starting a thread, not that there's a thing wrong with that, of course. When the place got rolling, Arhu reminded all of us to fill our profiles out, but that's been awhile, so just an FYI for newer posters.

But not too late.

Looking at the picture I always throught there was somthing special about you. Its good to have interesting forumites join the watch.
My name comes from my first online rpg zombiemud that I played in the 90s. I wanted to create a necromancer character with a jackal sounding name and I came up with zakhal. Somhow the name sticked. Later on Ive been thinking it was propably not the best choice for lifelong name in the internet. But I like necromancy so its okay.

o, did I forget 13 ?![]()
*Ponders what GG might be called on the real life realm*
@Zakhal: A great name, even better when I know the background.

Yepp. This is still Pibbur. Only he's as reported elsewhere changed his name to pibbur0x2a. And he's changed his age to 56. Apart from that: still the same.

Why did pibbur change so many things ? And what is that thing you call age ?
You cannot be pibbur. He said he was level 54!

First of all, by changing to pibbur0x2a, he hopes to ultimately come to know a LOT of things in the universal game of jeopardy.
Then …
Says pibbur0x2a who knows he shouldn't have written age when he meant level, or level when he meant age. Or the other way around. And who thinks he is moderatly aFfecteD by his current Malkavian personality.

Did you know that 0x2a forms the simple bitpattern 101010? The decimal 56 forms the bitpattern 111000. Same number of 1's and 0's. One is interwoven, the other forms two halfs.
Level N+1

Yes, i know that 0x2a=101010 (or 00101010 as I prefer to write it, although it loses some of it's beauty) But I selected it because it's 42 decimal.
Says pibbur, at level 0x38

I don't like these bit patterns, because they tell only very few things about the emotions of a person.
