…old world pubs with worn stone floors, thick oaken tables, and a roaring fire at one end of the dining hall.

Sort of like Cheers meets LotR meets drunken English revelry.

And if there are, please do tell!

The problem is that you're looking for old world pubs in the new world.

You're probably a lot more likely to find places like that in Europe.

hmm probably too many OH&S issues these days. Slippy trippy stone floor - I don't think so. Thick oaken tables blocking fire exits - fail. Roaring fire - hells no!

I have seen some in Oz, but I'm not telling where. You'll just have to come down here and look for them!!

I think the walls would have to be made of stone as well.

Well the east coast is fairly old. Not Europe old, but old enough. There are some there. I remember one in Delaware that was originally opened in 1724.

Obviously, such places aren't overly common and finding one in the New York area would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Really old establishments aside though, there's got to be some LARPer nerds somewhere that opened one up.

We have one. "The Greystone" Lots of stone and wooden floors. Wenches and Grog.

Makes you feel like sneaking upstairs to see if there are chests to loot

There are oldstyle pubs all across Europe. The real fire detail is rare though, most are fakes and just for visuals as are cheaper than wasting tons of real wood - daily, but you can always pay them to light one.

So you're the one who cleaned the area before I started the plunder!

Your average pub isn't like that these days. Those are becoming rarer and rarer as they all get absorbed into the big breweries and genericified. The only ye olde pubs I find these days are miles out in the country.
