Default Skyrim PC screens

October 18th, 2011, 01:00
So far, three in-game PC screens from Skyrim have been released:

1. 3000x984
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8613775/Skyr…Panorama01.jpg

2. 3580x1000
http://oyster.ignimgs.com/ve3d/image…teMountain.jpg

3. 1600x900
http://elderscrolls.net/img/skyrim/s…hots/sk_43.jpg

How do these compare with the other screenshots, which appear to have all been from the Xbox version?

Are there any promising details that bode well for PC graphics settings?

Why not compare yourself?

But yes the PC screens looks better to me, as promised by Bethesda. To see the exact difference we would need to have the same screens but from 360.

They seem to have decided to not show anything up-close for the PC version though? Could mean the textures arent that hi-res compared to 360, time will tell…

Being a Bethesda game, it will likely be up to modders to make the game look and play like it's worth a damn.

So, yes, the PC version will look better… eventually.

Some of the high-level modders for Oblivion have become quite silent. I wonder if there are some NDA's signed and a few folks already have the game, or at least the construction set. We may not have to wait very long at all to start seeing graphical mods.

well since you don't do the graphics in the construcion set, the graphical mods will come first, probably just some simple retextures..

I think you know the answer to this one. Or at least they haven't been implemented yet!

The environmental stuff looks very nice, but they've always been good at that part, even back in the Morrowind days. It's the people and clothing/armor that often times had low res textures and in some cases were bulky and blocky looking.

It's a very pretty game, but knew that it would be.

I won't need to look for a texture mod for this one for quite awhile, but as Motoki said, the NPCs are going to be the problem. In Oblivion we had the fat faces, in Morrowind they just looked ugly. I can't believe they messed up Dark Elves so badly, but someone will fix whatever they did pretty quickly.

Wonder why they don't just hire some of these guys who made mods like Project Beauty or any of the others that are ten times better than what Beth first put out.

Wow, not sure you can get any complaints from those three shots….

Lots of speculation in this thread, I say wait and see…nothing we have seen so far from the game has confirmed or even hinted at your fears. I commented in another thread how Risen 2 looked like it was behind in the graphics department…and these shots basically confirm that.

Listen, you can't tell they are graphically apart? I mean, |I'm looking forward to both, but the PB guys need to get better with graphics to keep up. Stop your little childish crusade to oppose everything I say.

Nice try, but I'm just pointing out the obvious, and I'm pretty sure people can see that.

The only crusade here is how you keep constantly trying to promote one game by putting down another.

You're excited about Skyim, cool. But why do you *constantly* keep mentioning Risen 2 and how it looks inferior? It doesn't, it just looks different. How about praising what you like without bashing something else to do it?

hahaha, you sure are getting pathetic in this, I said I want both, however I feel that Risen 2 just doesn't compare graphically with the new rpg's comming out. And thats fine, but it is a statement of fact. I love it, different is the new dated word.

Just because I am making a comparison does not mean I'm bashing it, you need to get over being so sensitive with the games you love. Oh, and I don't really care if your little buddies can't handle that as well. Gather your pitchforks all you want.

he intentionally puts down European games over American ones since he thinks people on this site favour European games. I have yet encounter anyone who intentionally puts down American games to make European ones look better but you know what they say about delusions

You've shown a pattern of similar comments over multiple threads. It's called trolling, and it's something you've been known to do in the past as well. I'm not going to argue about it though, because I already know where that will go. Carry on.

@lostforever- Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

Yes, thats the classic case of losing an arguement. There are a total of three rpg's I can think of comming out in the next little while, Kingdoms of Amular, Risen 2, and Skyrim…so yes those three games will be compared against each other. Different would be Reckoning since it goes for a different look. Skyrim and risen try a similar style. So those two can be compared. I made the comments in a thread with the pc shots of Risen 2 and the PC shots of Skyrim. Which is actually quite relevant, since you know they are both PC shots of the game. (to be fair it was a post in one of the risen threads that showed some pc footage.) This thread is recent, and I really didn't have anything other then the 360 footage to go by, which also looked better then the pc version of Risen 2.

It's sad that if I had said that Risen2 looked better, non of you would troll my comments. Talk about trolling huh JDR, you bully your way through peoples posts you don't agree with. I didn't realize you had say in what we could and can't discuss in the threads.
