I feel filthy. *Possible spoilers*

After a solid 10 minutes of pondering the "Mind of Madness" quest (the arena part), I cracked and looked up a guide on how to beat it. I feel ashamed now and wish I hadn't. Anyone else get stumped on that quest? The part where the guy is sleeping was a tough nut to crack too.

I actually watched someone else do that quest in a live streaming video before I had a chance to play the game. So yeah, I felt filthy, but at the same time it was really cool to watch and I couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen.
Though I didn't remember how he did that part (he seemed to have a lot of trouble with it), my strategy was just keep hitting random things with the jabbawack until something happens.

True, I tried hitting random things with Wabbajack too but it never occurred to me to shoot the thing you were supposed to shoot. And what really got me was, my stupid flame atronach kept getting backed into a corner, and I couldn't see him, therefore I couldn't hit him with Wabbajack to transform him. So I figured this was an extremely glitchy quest and that definitely was NOT supposed to happen. I reloaded like 3 times and that's part of the reason I eventually turned to the net for help.
I just can't believe Skyrim kicked my ass like that. I feel so weak to give in after 10 minutes though, but I justify by telling myself I didn't want to spend all night trying to figure it out. Still, extremely weak, and I'll never do it again!

I have the hardcover CE Prima Guide, which is really nicely done in terms of the binding and cover artwork, etc.
I think it was helpful to look at some of the basic information about followers and marriageable NPCs, as well as some of the enemy stats and how leveling works in the world.
I'm trying to avoid looking up any of the quests; however.

Huh, I had no problems with that quest and was actually a bit sad that it was so simple. Looking back at it now I can see how people could get a bit lost with it. Maybe that means I'm a bit too in touch with the MadGod.
It's always a bit annoying when you have to look up a solution to a quest online, but sometimes it's the only way to avoid getting frustrated. Once or twice I've had to glance at UESP to check if something was either buggy or intentional (skipping right to the bugs section and trying not to look at anything else), and occasionally I'll look up a quest that I've finished to check on things I might have missed. With games in general I try to resort to walkthroughs only when really stuck, or presented with a horribly out of place "puzzle" that I can't be bothered working out.

Lol, I've totalized almost 250 hours of gaming and still I haven't found that quest
anyway, I haven't used any guide at all for Skyrim, it was just too easy completing quests (I still miss quests' descriptions).

I have to admit I also really miss the quest descriptions. There are so many I would like to have some way of remembering them better.

After nearly 400 hours playing this game, I finally found Blackreach!
Not counting all the time spent in the Dwemer ruins making my way there, I spent two entire days in that place (about 10 hours of playing time) without finding the building where the
is supposed to be.
I did find a giant in there, which was pretty surprising.
I felt "filthy" for turning on the quest marker to find out which direction I should go. Although it was interesting to note that Blackreach seems to span from south of Whiterun all the way to the north of Winterhold.
My compass is disabled, so despite the quick look on the map to get an idea of the general direction, it still took quite a long time to find the actual location of the building.
And as for the puzzle, well, I'm still in there working on that one.

.And regarding Blackreach… Probably it's the most beautiful dungeon in the game imho, I just want it to be less linear, as any other dungeon in the game though.

I imagine if my HUD compass was enabled and I had enabled the quest marker, exploring Blackreach probably would have been a more linear type experience.
As I have been experiencing it, it was pure joy of exploration. All I knew was that there was an
somewhere down there.
So I explored all the various areas, looking for something resembling some kind of magical dwemer lock. I wish I hadn't given up so soon and resorted to checking the map.

I really hope that there will be DLC connected with Blackreach. It is strange to put so much work into a dungeon and leave it so empty!

Yeah, I think I was saying the same thing a month ago or more. Blackreach is just begging for more content in the future, I'd load up the game in a heartbeat to go back for something new!

I must be the only person who hasn't found Blackreach yet. Did you guys find it by questing, or just by randomly exploring? Don't tell me where it is, I want to find it on my own. But I've done the majority of "good" quest content in the game (good as in morality) and still haven't found it.

I stumbled into Blackreach while kiting 2 dragons, then running into a giant. While kiting all 3 I found the entrance, and used it to circle round and round while taking potshots at the mobs. It was a long fight, and in the midst of it I swore to myself that, if I survived, I'd investigate that door that I'd run by maybe 300 times while kiting =p. The next 3-5 hrs were pure joy
