Tomes of Mephistopheles - Patch and Gameplay Trailer
April 10th, 2012, 01:19
Kot-in-Action has new patch notes and a trailer for their first-person dungeon crawler, Tomes of Mephistopheles. The trailer is a high-energy affair with metal music, if that's your thing.

The music gets on the nerves and you seems to control some sort of high speed robot instead of a human.

I don't think they could have chosen worse music for that trailer..
I thought ToM looked promising the first time I saw footage. It reminded me of the King's Field series that I used to be a fan of. Now it's starting to look like a generic 3D hack & slash.

Eh, I thought it was solid enough given the progression of in-dev videos. It has taken so many years for there to be hopes of a Hexen'ish Roguelike thing, so I've no problem sticking around and seeing what they can ultimately whip up---there's good stuff in the patch notes.
