Looks like Prey 2 has not been cancelled after all!

UPDATE: Development of Prey 2 has not been cancelled but the game will not be released in 2012 as planned. The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want. We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule. In case you are not familiar with this project:

I never knew there was even talk of it being canceled, but I'm glad to hear that it's not. The early previews looked promising.

Well they say Prey 2 not cancelled its not up to Bethesda's standards. I have to laugh at that as there are other titles they published that weren't ready or to standards. Who knows maybe they learned there lesson.

Or it was so bad that it made Pete Hines blush and wish it was as good as Dungeon Lords.

There is also this little newsbit apparently the game will need a new developer.
Bethesda released a statement this morning, reaffirming that Prey 2 is not cancelled, but only delayed. However, now we're hearing that the developers haven't worked on the game since November last year.
No wonder Prey 2 has been delayed until 2013, as that's bordering dangerously close on six months without progress.
The delay stems from a contract dispute between developer Human Head Studios and the owner of publisher Bethesda, ZeniMax. Contract talks have been stop-start ever since.
An anonymous source told ShackNews that Human Head deliberately stopped work in November in search of a better deal, leading to layoffs of staff who hoped to be rehired when a new contract was negotiated. That never eventuated, after ZeniMaz stopped talking to Human Head in January.
There was a glimmer of hope in early March, but that was quickly stalled, resulting in rumours that the game had been cancelled altogether.
