I hope you don't expect a similiar open world experience.

Amongst the upcoming releases it's only Dishonored and Broken Sword 5 that catches my interest. I backed Wasteland 2, but turn-based isn't my favorite type of gaming and it won't come up in the next time. So I'm not overly excited.

Rayman Origins could be nice as well.

The last surviving member of the died-out Jump & Run genre - died out on the PC, not on other platforms.

With GTA V compared to San Andreas? Why not? The trailer showed off some pretty varied looking locales, outdoor environments that looked pretty vast and interesting, and hinted at multiple cities.

Dishonored isn't open world at all. It is instance based. You unlock new areas in a quite linear order. The variety of the game lies in it's several solution paths during the mission.

Ah yes, I see, now we're on the same page. I didn't mean to compare gta and dishonored, they are just two more games that have me interested. I was disappointed to read how they designed the world as a whole and then broke it up into sections to make it more mission focused, but it still looks pretty good.

The Last of Us just keeps on impressing me. This playthrough of the level they showed some months ago looks gripping and interesting as hell. If what they showed isn't that scripted, and it is considering they showed the same level being played differently last time, it's going to be one hell of an experience.

I've been following The Last of Us as well, and I think it might be the first "must buy" console game for me in a long time. The only negative is that it's being developed by Naughty Dog which means that it'll be a PS3 exclusive without a doubt.

Yeah, that was a bummer for me too. But, luckily I bought my PS3 just for the Uncharted series alone (they're awesome btw). So I'm good to go with Last of Us. I think they said 2013. So here's hoping it's sooner rather than later.

After playing the Uncharted, which were so good that I actually finished every one of them in about 2-3 sittings (which involved gaming until sunrise and then going to work with my eyes bloodshot, but well worth it ), I can hardly wait to see their latest. I've been mainly following Naughty Dog because of their game director, Amy Hennig, who pretty much lead the Legacy of Kain series after BO1. So I was huge fan. I was a bit disappointed that none of that awesome writing seemed to go into Uncharted (not that it's badly written, but nowhere near as close as awesome as LOK), but the series turned out to be amazing none the less.

Funny that you mention the Uncharted games because I was recently planning to buy Drake's Deception after seeing it on sale. It's a series that I've always wanted to play through but just haven't found the time yet. I've had copies of Drake's Fortune and Among Thieves for quite awhile.

I've played the first few hours of Uncharted 1, and I had a mixed first impression. I'd prefer more of a focus on exploration and less on gunning down waves of enemies. I'm already aware that the 2nd and 3rd games are (supposedly) far superior to the first though.

Yeah it looks great, but I don't own a PS3 or Xbox unfortunately.

Maybe I can buy a used one very cheap in 2013 after the next gen consoles are released?

I Am Alive was released for PC yesterday. It's a post-apocalyptic survival game in the same vein as The Last of Us.

I tried the PS3 demo a few months back and it seemed pretty good. It's not a big budget game, and the graphics are a bit below par, but it's only $15. Might be worth checking out for fans of the setting.

while i will probably pick up this game especially due to the price, i find it hilarious you are posting to a ubisoft store especially considering every post containing anything about ubisoft containsa matching post by you of idealogical stubborness disrigarding all franchises like the call of juarez, assasins creed, anno series, or their much earlier beyond good and evil.

What's hilarious about me not being a fan of those titles, and what do they have to do with I Am Alive?

I guess I should apologize for not being an Ubisoft fanboy.

Yep same here - I was just now reading up on it and I think it tops my list overall. Sounds like it will be a classic D&D party-based turn-based experience in a modern engine. From the looks of the Codex interview and the blog posts - they are going in all the right directions.

This picture from their site speaks volumes:

And if so, I'll be buying them all. My playlist will be huge, and I shall want for nothing at Christmas =p. Just seeing turn-based in a games' description makes it much more likely to be a purchase for me.
