FC3 Blood Dragon… is for real?

Seems that Blood Dragon, that was supposed to be april fools joke is not some nonexisting FC3 expansion nor DLC but will be released as a standalone game - next month. It all started here:

I have to say that after so much fun with FC3, and this looks even more bizarre, I'm probably preordering this one when possible. If it's not a prank that continued to live.
Hopefully, Dandelion game from CDprojekt will also get made.

I still have no clue what this game is. It looks nothing like FC3.

Noone knows. All we can know from those screenshots it's something pretty crazy.

I'll try to squeeze out more on Ubi forums, but since they're pressing sites to remove screenshots and gameplay vids, getting lucky doesn't smell promising.

And the story:

The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.

Word online is the game is already leaked. Sounds like someone at Ubisoft messed up. Looks like another Crysis 2 beta scandal in the making.

Didn't read that the game leaked, only a couple of gameplay videos.
No matter, that means a sort of reviews flood soon enough.

Browsed… Seems it did leak and if ppl are telling the truth, imagine this - it leaked due to a bug in uPlay!
No wonder Ubi plans to remove/soften DRM in the future - it's buggy.

Now I'm definetly going to troll over Ubisoft boards, I want that game! Legally ofc. So if pirates can have it, I wouldn't be unhappy if they already add it in the Ubi store.

That game looks so impossible to exist outside of indie scene, yet it's made for real under Ubisoft's blessing. Even if it turns out to be not that good, and although I went completely irrational about it, I want it so badly. Am I going crazy?

I didn't have enough time to troll Ubi boards yesterday but I really have to, they're not normal. Since it leaked out, cmon, put it on Uplay store already even if it's not polished, there are ppl who want to buy it desperately.

Release date: may 1st. In my case it's a done deal and my job now is eating myself for 20 days till it's out.

This game looks surprisingly neat for the price, and it doesn't require Far Cry 3 to play. I'll definitely be checking this out.

haha. actually looks like fun.

Looks amusing in a Venture Brothers/Archer sort of way. It's interesting to see them do such a goofy-in-a-self-aware-way reworking of the game like this. Also Farcry 3 was one of the those rare FPS games that managed to really pull me in with solid gameplay and exploration.

I'm patiently waiting 13 more days to be able to play it and I wish it becomes a success so more "troll projects" get developed. Not just by Ubi.

I wouldn't bet on it, not many big companies have guts for it.But than again I could have said same thing for Ubi few months back.

I don't play shooters much these days but for this I might have to make an exception. I grew up in the 80's among all the cliches that this draws from. It looks like hilarious fun - and the retro synth soundtrack sounds great!

That has to be the most overpowered shotgun I've ever seen.

It does look fun. There's too much stuff on the HUD though. I hope some of those markers, etc., can be disabled.

I love the music. It sounds like it was ripped straight out of the original Terminator. Pure 80's cheese.

Pure unadulterated awesomeness!!!!!! Must needs preorder. Def spiritual successor to a *real* 3D Realms game!
