With ubersampling on I had areas slow down with 2 gtx 480's in sli. It definitely required a good rig for max settings.

Two GTX 680s in SLI should have been enough to max out TW2.
I highly doubt there's anything out there right now that could slow down two Titans in SLI.

I didn't find The Witcher 2 to be all that demanding. Yes, ubersampling was insane - but that's about it. I clearly remember being surprised how smooth it was on max settings - and I didn't have a top of the line card at the time.
I did get an ATI 6990 sometime later on, and I still couldn't run with ubersampling and get it totally smooth - but then again, I never noticed much difference, visually.

I'll get me coat.

Hell I wish they included the new light and shadows from the console version. Let me repeat it again playing with bloom on is terrible. It's to bright.

Sorry JDR I really didn't remember what letters on card were and in what order - but Moriendor on this very forum suggested to buy it when I asked, so I did.
And it's this one, sorry again for wrong letters:

No SLI and whatever "fancy" stuff noone really needs, still it has no problems not only with TW2 but also everything else works flawlessly with it.
And, if it matters to anyone, silently. I can't hear that card imitating an airplane like my previous one!
There is only one problem with that card though. It's power hungry. Means, when I get a power surge, if I'm playing a game, UPS, the one I have, can't give enough power and PC restarts. If I'm not playing games but am doing whatnot, UPS will work.
Oh and… If you're talking about ubersampling all the time… I admit I never turned it on. The game looked already beautiful enough without it and I saw no reason for even more antialiasing.
EDIT:
No, I won't buy Titan card, nor a pair just to preach how fantastic they are. Where would I use them apart from TW2/TW3? Nowhere. Sorry but I won't pay that sum for something I'll see a slight difference once and never again.
Besides with that cash I can buy 384756823475687346578435 crappy smartphone games.

I wish I could afford top of the line video cards but my budget does not allow it anymore.

I could afford one Titan card right now, but two… Maybe. Dunno. Bought some expensive comics a few days ago so… Anyway in our stores Phantom GTX 780 (3Gb version) costs $960.
The problem is I don't see any rational reason to buy a new gfx card. Everything this one I have still looks and runs great.
So in a way, if TW3 doesn't "behave" on my current card, I'll buy Titan next year. But I don't think CDprojekt will insist on it. Not only it would be silly, but also it's turning down customers who can't afford it.

I didn't use Ubersampling either, but TW2 still wasn't very smooth on high settings at 1920x1200. That was with a factory overclocked GTX 470 which is slightly faster and has more memory than your GTX 560.
TW2 was definitely ahead of its time. In the two years since it was released, I've played very few games that I couldn't run at max settings with the same rig. Metro 2033 and Serious Sam 3 are the only games that come to mind.
Oh, and you might want to look into getting a new PSU if your rig is restarting during games.

No… It's not PSU problem, but UPS. UPS should give a juice to the PC on energy shortage/outage (I do experience it often here) but it can't give enough to satisfy the card when I'm playing games. If I'm not playing graphically "challenging" games, but let's say Solitaire, or I'm browsing the net, or I'm typing some word doc, or watching porn, during the outage PC won't restart as gfx card doesn't need that many watts. The UPS I have is a cheap one, and I'm not really complaining on it, I'm complaining on the power the gfx card wants in games.
Pro UPS however seems too expensive just to assure I won't lose the progress in the game. Hopefully now ppl can understand why I despise console savegame points instead of saving the game anywhere.

Oh great another game from CD Projekt RED, constantly FORCING gamers to make stupid world breaking choices. Pretending to have a neutral protagonist, neutral quest choices which break world/lore.
A fight is about to break out at a bank. If you don't decide to support one or the other side, you are attacked, while the other side attacks them. Just for being there, not taking a side, it all becomes about you the player (standing there) your lack of choice, instead of the bank robbery…
"Omg he didn't choose me, I'm gonna kill him for not choosing ME! Even though I'm being attacked by my sworn enemy and the bank I'm sworn to protect is being robbed."
That's some fine quality writing, story telling and game mechanics. While it might not break the 4th wall, it does break the stupidity wall.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language…they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

You mean you got attacked by the hyper-radical fundamentalist racist elf group because you didn't want to participate in their newest terror-fest? Does 'you're with us or against us' ring a bell in connection to fanatics, brother?

I'd say your not missing much without uber running. Not sure why it has such a FPS hit.

While I could understand not being able to cleanly switch sides, I found the lack of options disappointing though I suppose that may have been the result of budgetary constraints coupled with design decisions (ie, too expensive to react to choosing A in first segment and B later on and too goofy if they were to let you cleanly join up with B after chosing A without properly acknowledging it).

My oldest child can not wait for this game to come out. Reason is he gets this system that I bought to play the Witcher 2. I am not saying everyone can do this but there are few games I really want to play and it is the perfect time to buy a new system every two years.

I thought they announced the game as an open world sandbox game similar to Skyrim with witcher elements? Now it isn't an open world sandbox game?
