I'd just like to interject here and point out that I'm not going to say anything to spoil the mood, Chief. I'll just float here and watch. Don't mind me, just sitting here, floating and watching, that's me.

Skyrim > Witcher 2 for stealth/ranged combat.
Witcher 2 > Skyrim for melee combat.
Magic? It's a tie, I suppose.

No illusion school makes it a tie?
Not buying it…
EDIT: Also I don't see how a rolling constantly to win melee fights makes W2 combat better. I like using the environment, and dodging in and out of cover, different elevations, and a bit of kiting, sure, and I can do this in Skyrim. But rolling around constantly to be able to win in artificial forced cramped quarters is not my idea of "better".

Gothic 2 was the sweet spot of a 'modern' open world RPGs for me. Size really doesn't matter if there's sod all novelty in it. I hate to pick at old scabs… but vanilla Oblivion is the worst offender in that regard. Two Worlds 2 is a close second. Miles of meaningless terrain and endless random spawns is a single player MMORPG. And the only thing I want to play less than a MMORPG is a JRPG.
