Default Elder Scrolls Online - Voices of Tamriel & ESRB

January 24th, 2014, 15:17
ZeniMax Online has a new video about the voice cast for Elder Scrolls Online.

Get all the details on the star-studded voice cast — and the characters they play — in our latest video for The Elder Scrolls Online.

A renowned group of actors will be lending their voices to The Elder Scrolls Online. John Cleese, Michael Gambon, Kate Beckinsale, Malcolm McDowell, Lynda Carter, Bill Nighy, and Alfred Molina — and many more — take on the roles of just some of the interesting characters you'll meet while exploring Tamriel.
The next article of interest is from Forbes about the M-rating from the ESRB.

Bethesda’s first MMO is hitting consoles soon, but maybe only for older gamers. The ESRB has given it a “Mature” rating. It’s unclear what, exactly, precipitated the rating, but given some of the darker elements and frequent beheadings of a game like Skyrim, one can sort of guess. Bethesda’s Pete Hines said that this wasn’t the rating the team was hoping for, but they’re planning on staying the course.

“The ESRB advised us that it has give The Elder Scrolls Online a Mature rating,” the company said in a tweet. “While we may disagree with the ESRB’s determination, we do not plan to challenge the rating, and we are unwilling to change the game’s content to achieve a different rating. The game was have created is the one we want our fans to be able to play.”
More information.

Good maybe with a mature rating and being released on consoles there won't be a bunch of junior high kids running around acting like asses. I can play on the computer servers and with a monthly sub maybe I won't see too many names like Bud Weiser running around.

But I prefer Game of Thrones over Harry Potter so maybe I am a dying breed. Old man rant off Anyone know if there will be a RPG server?

I'm a bit puzzled with the M rating. No nudity, no hard language so far from what I've seen, combat isn't as violent as Skyrim (no beheading or things like that).

Maybe somebody found the lady Bosmer attire too revealing? A girl shouldn't be allowed to show her tummy in a video games!

@Hastar There is going to be a single "mega-server". They were supposed to do a "filtering" survey to put people with the same playstyle in the same "instance" but that was abandoned from what I understand.

Thanks azarhal. Mega-server could be nice if the community is good. But if there is a bunch of fools running around then it could be a mega headache

I think mega server can ruin and hinder community. If there are too many people, then you are unlikely to run in to the same person again. Also its hard for people to "establish" (in good and bad ways) themselves on the server. You becomes one of the masses.

Leaving community aside, one of the big casualty of mega server is there will be no server wide auction house since it will also be game wide auction house too. I think guilds can have stores but not sure if only people from the same guild can sell stuff to each other or not. Anyway I don't know what they are putting in place of server wide auction house. May be you have to sell your items using chat, the old fashioned way!
