Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Editorial @ Gamer Headlines

Gamer Headlines has a new article for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls that asks if the expansion can bring back old players.

My prediction is that many gamers find their way back into Diablo III, if only for a little while. Even those who hated the game stayed long enough to complete the main story. Whether or not the Reaper of Souls has what it takes to convince players to stick around and suffer the heat, we’ll just have to see.

While it is being patch to the current game, I'm pretty certain that you have to purchase the expansion pack in order to unlock and activate the new contents. I guess I'm one of those that will return to play the exp. for a few weeks before moving on to ESO.
