(Secret?) World of Angry Birdcraft.

pibbur who wonders if he should watch Hitchcock's classic: The Birds. Those featherballs sure looks angry to him.

If even Angry Bird is going RPG, I don't think there's a better clue that the platinum age of RPG has started.

Funnily, the word "Epic" is never used in Sci-Fi. At least not that I would remember it.

Not sure what you mean by "not used", but here are a few quotes:

"Heechee Rendevouz" (F. Pohl): "The gripping finale to the grand epic adventure of the Heechee Saga" (books.google.no)

Infinity Shore: "This second volume in David Brin's new Uplift trilogy is an epic tale that artfully combines dozens of unique characters and their individual stories." (amazon.co.uk)

I think you'll find the word uses in describing most major book series.

pibbur who prefers to be unepic.

Never heard of both, I'm sorry.

And, maybe it's a language- / country-specific thing, too ?

I suspect that the word "epic" here is used in a somewhat ironic way.
Also, the game does not look that bad. It looks like the kind of game that you would play while when you need to kill a couple of min, much like the original angry birds, and it does look like it might be one of the better games of that type.

I think it is used in space opera, adventure exploration SF, some more. Not in SF focusing cover various more serious subjects.

EDIT: And for Brin, for the novels I read and enjoyed a lot was really more SF themes used to give density to build epic adventures.

If you like science fiction, and can get your hands on those books, you're in for a treat!!!

pibbur who also would like to recommend Larry Niven's known space books. And the Riverworld books. And Gene Wolfes's torturer tetralogy. Most books by Alistar Reynolds! The hyperion saga!!!

pibbur also regrets derailing yet another thread. *looks at nearby wall*

I agrtee that there should to be some grandiosity, a huuuge scope, maybe more than one book. I wouyldn't call 1984 epic, althouygh a really great novel.

Maybe. Or maybe not. I think that can be said about a lot of SF.

pibbur who has no grandiosity thoughts about himself.
