Crusader Kings 2 is also free to play during the weekend. If anyone is curious about the game, now is the time to give it a try. Feel free to ask any questions you have in this thread and I'll answer as able (522 hours played and counting!).

Consider me a CK2 fanboi. It's the game I keep going back to.

$40 on a Steam is expensive for the CK2 collection.
Has Paradox finally stopped developing add-ons for it?

And I hope they'll keep on developing that game for a while longer!

What, they're trying to kill Train Simulator's DLC record?

Again, totally not needed at all whatsoever, specially the music ones (you can just put a medieval collection in youtube as background), the sprite packs, coat of arms, unit packs, all just cosmetic.

EDIT: Actually the best deal to get is the Paradox Grand Strategy Collection. For $9 you get Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis 4, Victoria 2 and Hearts of Iron 3. CK2 and EU4 are fine to play as they come (without DLCs), but Victoria 2 is 'older style Paradox' and for that you will want the two expansions (Heart of Darkness and A House Divided), so for like $13 you'll get 3 extremely awesome games (no comment on Hearts of Iron 3 as that's the only one I don't like).

Well for all those worried about the constant DLC's it seems Charlemagne will be the last one released for Crusader Kings 2. Their focus is now on EU4, and other new games.

And I would (personally) recommend The Old Gods DLC if you're just buying vanilla CKII. It adds a lot of content, and it's, what, $3.75 or something right now? It's a good one.

And…bring on Hearts of Iron 4.

So then, let's see… In round 1 we have 4 expansion-type DLC: Sword of Islam, Legacy of Rome, The Republic and the Old Gods (and that is not counting Sunset Invasion). So I'm not without hope there'll be another one after that!
Also, say without you will, but with each DLC comes also a free patch that introduces new features as well!
