Lol. No sale. But I will try the game at some point. But I am not buying until there is a non Origin version.

Heh… good luck getting any such version off of anything but Piratebay.

I looks really good and it'll be hard not to buy it immediately (or pre order).

But, like JDR13, I have so many games to play right now, more coming out all the time, and a huge wishlist, as it is.

You know there will be DLC. You know the game will come down in price with all DLC included in a year or less.

When you've already had to wait ages, when you are overloaded with games, and when you know you can get the "full" game for less not that far off in the future, it's a tougher call to throw down at release.

My usual flow on a game like this is buy it at release and NOT buy any DLC since I hate getting nickle and dimed. If I buy this type of game on sale later with all DLC I get so much more - on the off chance that I actually play the whole game, which these days, with so many games, it's rare that I "finish" some games even if I play them more than enough to justify buying them.

This game looks really good though and I'm sure there's tons they aren't showing us both with gameplay and even moreso with content. It'll be real tough to sit and not enjoy the spectacle immediately.

Personally I don't think it does look that good after just going and looking at the witcher 3 again if you are going on graphic looks. The combat just looks odd to me.

I agree with JDR13 there is a ton of games to play before I pick this one up. So I will wait and see what everyone thinks of it and make up my mine down the road.

I think a replay of D OS is first on my list then Lords of Xulima. Once I have played those two if the reviews are slightly to a lot better than DA2 I will pick it up.

The interface and tactical view looks roughly like I expected. I still can't understand why it took them so long to show it, and why they keep using controllers in PC videos. Yes, I know that some people prefer controllers for certain types of games even on a PC, but DA: I is the kind of game that has dozens upon dozens of abilities, items and so on. Flipping through all that crap with a controller instead of just selecting it with a mouse is quite a tedious task.

While I will be waiting like you, I wouldn't be too sure about this. Companies switch to the model of reducing the price of the base game but keeping the price of extensions and DLC's high. Bethesda does that, and EA has done this with some of the ME titles.

The new Bioware/EA will never offer a complete package ever again. So your right they make more selling the base game, and keeping the DLC separate.

If anyone needs examples look at DA 2 and the last two Mass Effect games. The last game with everything included was Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition in 2010.

Those days are over.

I suspect you're right. It's quite mad that buying everything for Mass Effect 2 is still very expensive, even though the game is close to five years old. The game itself is cheap, but the DLCs still have a fixed price.

I wouldn't rely on the reviews, you know. I still remember PC Gamer's review of Dragon Age II, their 94% rating, and especially the part they assumed that it would become 'the best RPG of the decade'. For fans of archaic RPGs, archaic methods like 'word of mouth' work perfectly.

The reviews I was talking about would be the people that post here. I trust the thoughts of people here on most games anyways.

Going by how devised this place is when it comes to DA2, I hope who you know who likes things somewhat similar to you.

Just like guns suddenly needed ammunition in ME2 all healing spells are suddenly lost knowledge in DAI. It would have been acceptable if they had made a big deal about the decline of mages and their inability to preserve knowledge over long stretches of time since so few are allowed to know the most potent of spells and that the uncivilized wild mages never bother with institutions that can preserve the more esoteric incantations. Shame Bioware never does anyting really interesting like that.

They wanted an adventuring day feel similar to BG1/BG2, so no spam healing freely available.

The UI looks functional but it feels out of place for a fantasy game. The color and the aesthetics are more suited to sci fi game.

I think dedicated healing is sacrificed for the same reason as GW2 and some new MMOs like EQ Next. They want you to take any NPC (or player) in your party and not to worry about their class…. if you have a dedicated healer class, then your encounters has to be balanced around that etc.

It doesn't in DAI. You need to "rest" at the design camp spot to regen health.

That you could only spam if you abuse resting (which is not the intended way of playing that game).
