TaleWorlds Entertainment announces “Viking Conquest” DLC for Mount & Blade Warband

ANKARA, Turkey – October 16th 2014 – TaleWorlds Entertainment is proud to announce “Viking Conquest” an upcoming DLC for Mount & Blade Warband, externally developed by the team behind the popular “Brytenwalda” mod. Viking Conquest takes the Mount & Blade franchise into historical Dark Age Britain, at a time when Norsemen began to raid the British Isles, looting monasteries and burning coastal settlements. The DLC features an overworld map encompassing Britain, Norway and Denmark, a fully fledged single player storyline, as well as the classic sandbox mode with expanded diplomatic options. Multi player also plays host to new game modes, including sea battles and coastal raids. All filled with completely new armours, weaponry, scenes and characters authentic to the Dark Age setting.

Viking Conquest will soon be available on Steam's Early Access. The game is still under development and will continue to be developed, while in Early Access, with input and feedback from players.

Interesting. Single player, hm? Might be the perfect excuse to install Warband again.

Wh-…

Where's Mount & Blade II?

Still, I like the sound of it. But…

Eh…maybe they need to raise extra cash for development or something.

A different developer is making the game once again, and TaleWorlds makes money off game sales. It's similar to the last two expansions, and the recent Caribbean game.
An upcoming DLC for Mount & Blade Warband, externally developed by the team behind the popular “Brytenwalda” mod

Anyway I look at these games as paid mods instead of expansions, and DLC.

This is my guess so they have money to finish 2 but I guess so that the mod teams can profit isn't a bad thing either I guess. Mount and Blade is fun and all but its not the kinda game I expect DLC 6 years later from. Crusader Kings 2 is that kinda game though it still has a few years to reach same number of years.

Yeah, it's sorta like…being sixty-five years old and finding out you're pregnant.

"The DLC features an overworld map encompassing Britain, Norway and Denmark"

What, no Sweden??? No-buy! Or actually, I probably will anyway since I really want to support both this modding team and the original developers.

Maybe their experience with Paradox games explains their choice…
