Default Witcher 3 - Opening Cinematic Released

I hope they move away from these action trailers in the gaming industry with some super strong characters messing with a lot of enemies and those things, they cost a lot of money to make and are completely pointless. This one is a bit better as it at least probably will tie in with the story where Geralt hunts whatever monster that woman is….

IF I'm right than the woman in the trailer certainly shouldn't be considered a monster. And the hunt might be a search or a combination of the two. Choices and consequences… always choices and consequences…

The woman in the video is Yennefer. She was Geralt 's lover in the novels, and the one he has been searching for in both games. The ending of Witcher 2 explains this.

I'm interested in seeing see what the choices and consequences will be in the third game. As CD Projekt said Geralt will have to make a few big choices regarding NPC's.

Pretty nice, ok intro. Previous trailer(s) were a little overrated IMHO. As GothicGothicness said - try to make mega cool impression based on strong hero fighting some dull mob is predicable and generic. But I admit it mostly works on ppl.

That's Yennefer.

and that's the woman from the vid.

And that's one of the choices.

The woman from the opening Cinematic was definitively Yennefer as she wore the same uniform as above. If you read the books you should know the other woman.
The opening cinematic of the game shows Geralt and his Witcher mentor, Vesemir, track down Yennifer, exploring the remnants of a battle in which she was present. It's a pretty gruesome showing, and it's clear that the third game of the series is going to let Geralt end his story arc with a bang.
I can't wait for the moment when Yennefer finds out about Geralt, and Triss.

Yennifer also did have a few flings that Geralt knew about so neither side has any moral advantage. Afterall they weren't bound by love but by magic.

Yennefer is not known for being a calm woman, and she quite explicitly warned Triss after her last bout with Geralt in the books to stay away.

Basically it looks like Triss used Yennefer's disappearance, and Geralt's amnesia to her advantage in the last two Witcher games.

Though CD Projekt will probably use the amnesia excuse for her also.
