M & B: Viking Conquest - Available for Pre-order

TaleWorlds Entertainment announces “Viking Conquest” DLC for Mount & Blade Warband

ANKARA, Turkey – November 12th 2014 – TaleWorlds Entertainment is proud to release the first gameplay footage from “Viking Conquest”, an upcoming DLC for Mount & Blade Warband, externally developed by the team behind the popular “Brytenwalda” mod. Viking Conquest takes the Mount & Blade franchise into historical Dark Age Britain, at a time when Norsemen began to raid the British Isles, looting monasteries and burning coastal settlements. In the gameplay reveal, the different kinds of battle modes featured in the DLC are shown. These include dynamic sea battles with controllable ships and seamless boarding encounters, sieges in historically based Dark Age settlements and formations for your troops, including the famed Shield Wall.

Viking Conquest is available right now, for pre-order on GoG and other good retailers soon, with the full release set for December 2014 (next month). More information and reveals are to follow in the lead up to the December release.

Haven't played M&B in some time, but playing as a Viking marauder certainly appeals to me.

I highly recommend trying this as the makers of this DLC produced on of the most amazing modificiations for Mount and Blade Warband (Brytenwalda). Im making a happy dance around in my considerably large apartment and eating mediocre sandwhiches. In december we shall plunder and slaughter!

Any story included in this DLC?

Apparently so. From its Steam page:

"The DLC features a story mode with a complex plot, where choices have real consequences, as well as a standard sandbox mode…A story mode where the player will be part of a complex plot involving political conspiracy, during the time the sons of Ragnar were leading their Great Heathen Army through Britain. An immersive game style with choice and consequence, romance, betrayal, moments of greatness and ruin….More than 15 possible companions, with deep interaction and different personalities. Sometimes their conflicts will force you to use cunning and diplomacy."

I am interested, but will wait on reviews for picking this up.

From "no buy even if my life depends on it" game, I'm suddenly very interested.

But since I have too many games to play (didn't even scratch Wasteland 2, currently into VC, probably will go with DA3 after it, sims 4 still installed waiting for patch on several crashing bugs, etc), I probably won't buy this right now. Will wait for impressions.

Would appreciate any information on about how long it'll take you to complete the plot.

Couldn't find a length for the story. Available info seems rather scant. Just regurgitated press releases. This feature list is a bit longer than what is reprinted on Steam. Sounds good to me. I'll be getting this, methinks.
