Brilliant news that Dark Souls deserves. All I need now is to import my saves.
Thanks JDR for the DSfix update.

Thank you kindly gentlemen for the news and link. I shall definitely be testing this at some point in the near future. Looking forward to getting back into the spirit of this game again soon.

So does this mean the game actually plays properly on PC now?
I don't know about the PvP elements as I did not try them, but the multiplayer part (co-op and invasion) was sort of working - which I guess will be much better now with Steam.

I got the migration of saves and achievements to work and transition smoothly as well as the new Dsfix. However I think I'll need to wait for an update to Dsmfix to get my beloved keyboard and mouse combination going again.
Edit: Ahh, very nice - this worked a treat!
Here's a guide for getting Dsmfix working with the Steam update, with some links to the updated files embedded within.
