Default Tales of Aravorn - Review @ RPGamer

January 2nd, 2015, 21:21
Alex Fuller of RPGamer reviewed the recently released RPG game Tales of Aravorn: Seasons Of The Wolf, and calls the game average with a final score of 3/5.

If forced to choose between Seasons Of The Wolf and its predecessor, then Loren The Amazon Princess would get the nod purely for its more rewarding overall storyline and larger set of intriguing characters. However, Seasons Of The Wolf provides a decent follow-up, and those who have enjoyed Winter Wolves' previous excursions or other visual novels should find it well worth the fifteen to twenty hours it takes to get through.
More information.

Since no one else is gong to comment on this game I might as well. Now my opinion might be biased because I love playing these type of games.

Now if you have played any of Winter Wolves games then you know what you're getting into. I'll list the basics below for new-comers.

1. Interactive Storytelling
2. Choice and Consequences
3. Good Party Interaction
4. Romances are Included
5. Turn- based Combat

If none of those interest you because the game plays like a visual novel with combat, and because it has romances then don't bother as the game is not for you.

Now if you liked the games check out the developers other games.

It plays the same as Loren The Amazon Princess with a few small changes.

Well based on my play-through combat is the same just faster. It has not changed much since Loren at all unless you mean the map you use to fight & explore now.

Whenever I read "RPG game" I have the impression the subconscious wants to tell me that the game is not really an RPG.

That's your choice to do so but the game is marketed, and sold as an RPG.

I was making fun of your choice of words in the OP, if that wasn't clear.

Oh it was very clear to me I just don't care. Just more narrow minded thinking on what makes an RPG and what doesn't. So nothing new on this site.

So since were done making fun of each other good day to you sir.

PS: Enjoy your spot on my ignore lost form now on.

I really enjoyed Loren the Amazon Princess, too bad that Alex says that Tales of Aravorn is rather mediocre compared to the predecessor.

Yeah I was surprised myself by his review, but I think players will still enjoy the game. Anyway the developer had a half off sale last month, and I picked up a few games.

Sorry HiddenX I'm just a bit passionate about games I like sometimes.

So maybe he did but I'm tired right now, and a little on the edge since I can't sleep. So I'll see you guys in the afternoon, and hopefully I'll be in a better mood.

Looks like something I'd like to play, I wonder why I didn't get it before. Now I have to wait for when it's on sale again

Each game is set in the same game world but different. You will find a few Easter Eggs for Loreen though that might make no sense, but thats all.

Hi,
I'm the game developer I wanted only to say that I don't think one of the two games is better, but they're more different than they seem. In short, Loren is more focused on romances/characters, while SOTW more on combat/skills/exploration. SOTW is also very long, like Loren+DLC.
A more detailed comparison in my blog:
