I didn't expect this at all.
If it's not a co-op based game and it actually has a good single player campaign, color me very interested

Couch, I don't think I've ever played an inferior D&D game! As you know I enjoyed Daggerdale a lot, playing couch co-op with my dad. We also had fun with Dark Alliance on the consoles, and a few other great co-op, hack n' slash D&D games.
I have high hopes for this one. RTwP combat, designed by a DA:O lead designer, etc. It's very promising thus far.
As for the console D&D games I agree they were not that bad. Though I have to say they have nothing in common with Baldur's Gate, Torment , and Icewind Dale.
All they shared was the setting, and name like the Fallout console game.

You're absolutely right, Couch. Baldur's Gate and the like were much better games, but the console ones were a blast to play in co-op mode. Pure hack n' slash goodness.
Daggerdale was patched by the time I got to it, I guess, as I didn't experience any bugs or anything. My dad and I beat it together and couldn't wait for the sequel to come out. Unfortunately it never happened.
The game was still quite good for us, though. Worth the $10 or $15 we spent on it on the Xbox Live store.

Have you played the two PS2 EverQuest games yet Fluent? You and your dad should be able to enjoy playing Co-op in those two games together.

Ah, man. My dad and I were LOVING one of those Everquest games, I think it was Return To Arms, but unfortunately we had a bad disc or something, because every time we got to a certain part in the game, the screen turned black or the game crashed. We tried everything to fix it but couldn't, so we just gave up.
I'd love to revisit those games, though. The one we were playing had a ton of promise!
Guess I'll have to pick up some new copies on Ebay soon.

Any system specs requirements floating around?, it mentions steam but I couldn't find it earlier on there.

Sounds nice, that's multiplayer I like, where the only idiots are my friends… and me ;-)
Anyway, NWN was always a good thing, nice modding, etc. Looking forward to this one.

This may be a good game for Corwin and his group. When the whole gang can't get together, they can play this in GM mode.

Cautiously optimistic here. A new Neverwinter party-based DnD game would be great if done correctly. Also, what version of DnD will it be? I can wish for 3.5 but would probably be disappointed.

Interesting announcement following the Interview about D&D not being worth pursuing as a developer by Obsidian. I will definitely keep an eye on how this one turns out. You can never have too many good D&D games to play.
@ thrasher the vid said it using V 5.

Since I don't trust Hasbro or WoTC, they'll need to show a ton more before I'd even think about pre-ordering. I've also never heard of the supposed Dragon Age veteran. What did this guy do on the game? He calls himself a director, but DAO wasn't a movie. I get the feeling he's not a programmer.

Good looking video. I'm excited to play another game set in the Forgotten Realms. I just hope they focus on the SP. I'm not at all interested in co-op.

It looks good to me; the graphics are nice and detailed, and the perspective means I won't have to constantly fiddle with the camera. I haven't heard anything bad about the v5 rules, so I'm okay with that. Can't say I'm interested in 4v1 mode though, so I'll see what the reviews have to say about the single player campaign before I invest.

As for the game itself, it looks very much in keeping with those old Infinity Engine-era RPGs. It'll feature a full single-player campaign, as well as the option for co-op and the opportunity for an additional player to take the role of Dungeon Master.I'm good with all this. Did you get a look at the pre-order package prices? Damn!
