I never really cared about the physical disc once it was clear we could redeem our game at GOG anyway. I just want the manuals and cloth maps!

Well I don't want to worry about archiving the download because of Obsidian (or GoG or Steam) going out businesses (or being bought out) in the far future. I'd rather have it in a CD for me.

Thrasher what is the point of a physical disk which is almost out of date in the first week let alone years later? You will have to archive the patches any way so you may as well just archive the whole game.

Yeah, it's more the idea of actually getting a complete game rather than depending on bits and pieces. Sadly, reality fails that ideal more lately. Enabled by the internet. However, I'd rather get a patched up CD rather than an initial one with more holes.

I'd be happy if the DVD just contained content like a digital copy of the manual + soundtrack and anything else they can throw together. Game should be a download.

Nothing ever gets lost these days. You can still find the most obscure games on the internet.
