Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Announcement Trailer
April 9th, 2015, 21:46
I finally got to watch the trailer.
The trailer music is sadly not available to download an put on iPhone as a ringtone.
It's on Eidos' private channel:
https://soundcloud.com/eidosmontreal…-48khz/s-xGG7x
Didn't instapreorder it as I just can't be arsed to register on square enix site and the game will use Steamworks DRM which means there will probably be a better preorder deal on Steam or on Greenmangaming later.

Great music for the trailer, Michael McCann FTW
I also enjoyed stealthy character in DE:HR; and although i think one does not need so many xp playing as gunblazing enforcer, same amount of experience points for different approaches would be nice

Great news!
Now if this was the "combat trailer", hopefully they'll show the stealth trailer next. I like the idea of more liberal aug use. Hopefully this game has many cool city hub levels.
And thanks D'art for gathering that info packet for us

I also hope the hub levels are larger than what they were in HR.

If Square will reuse the engine from previous game and recently improved for Tomb Raider (Crystal Engine) you should expect extralarge hubs with big areas connected through tunnels that will mask loading screens.
I actually believe the engine is not limited by itself and can pull out even bigger areas than used in TR, but the limits were probably a must because of consoles' pathetic hardware.

You can read about the engine here or watch the tutorial with annoying player's voice over.

Remember me whining how Bioware is playing on safe bet, not announcing the release date before they see if The Witcher 3 will pwn this year and if that happens they can postpone ME4 for 2016.?
Hell now I *want* them to put it in 2016. against this new DX game. And most probably FO4. And hopefully, Cyberpunk.
There will be no clash of titans in 2015. it seems, but next year, I expect all charts to switch to top 4 games, top 3 won't suffice!

Seems that new DX is not the only thing SE is announcing.
Another upcoming game will be revealed in a few days, teaser is a pic with a code on the official site:
http://www.jp.square-enix.com/secret/
This doesn't look like Final Fantasy crap to me.
Forgotten Star Ocean reboot/sequel or I just wish it was Anachronox 2 or it's something else, perhaps something completely new?
We'll know at monday.

I just realized something looking at the trailer again, seems like some of the non-lethal weapons from DX:HR are now augments.
PEPS gun = arm-canon PEPS gun
stun gun = knuckle-taser (called Telsa in the GI info rundown)
That leaves the tranquilized rifle (the most overpowered thing in HR, I expect it to be toned down or changed too).
I wonder if that is the dev trying to limit the usage of non-lethal weapons (aka sneak everywhere and takedown everyone silently without killing them on top of it for twice/thrice the gain of a non-sneak playthrough) or just a way to reduce how much stuff is going into your inventory. I suspect both might still use ammo like the Typhoon did though.

The PEP gun was fantastic, but it was counterbalanced in the early game by significant inventory demands and rare ammo. I'm not sure how it should be balanced, but I like the thought of it being integrated hardware rather than a standalone weapon.

It's just CGI shortstory trailer, I don't think it's actual ingame footage but who knows.
And btw in my case the OP weapon in HR was not tranq rifle but stun gun.
