TEXT ADVENTURES ARE THE ONLY LEGIT RPGs.
So yeah, the peeps who seem to think graphics don't impact immersion or whatnot…I am reminded, ironically, of what the Dark Souls 2 co-director said about graphics, basically saying they want to push the lighting and graphical fidelity because it directly improves the immersion. [Then they proceeded to strip out the improvements, but I digress.]
So yeah, Witcher 3's graphics are a strong selling point to its world.

Well I don't like the Dark Soul games Brumbek, and its not because of graphics.

I may be a graphics whore, but no kind of shiny graphics could make me buy Dark Souls. Or Lords of Fallen (was that the name?). Or Bloodborne.
I admit shiny graphics made me preorder Watch Dogs back in the day. It was a mistake I won't repeat easily (y'hear Ubi? I'm not buying sequels of that boredom!).

Well, I really like dark souls, lords of the fallen and bloodborne, but also not for the graphics.

Sakichop we all have opinions, and like different games so that's fine with me. Now as for my opinion I hate Dark souls, and any game that clones the game mechanics.
Now I do agree with you about the graphics of those games.

It was more a point that graphics aren't really the selling point of those games. The graphics are good but there not ground breaking.

Hmm, I love great graphics but I can also play the gold box games on dosbox or wizardry 1 with wire frame graphics.
I don't know, does that still mean I'm a graphics whore? Or maybe just a graphics escort.![]()

Found an interesting image which outlines some of the locations featured in this gameplay trailer, along with their locations on the world map and the angle which they capture. Quite a big map. Too bad they don't feature the large castle which can be seen in the trailer. That one looks great.
The image is kind of spoilery, if you don't want to know where certain landmarks are.

I'd argue it does in fact have AMAZING graphics, and that's coming from a 3D modeler/designer.

Or to put it on me, I strongly dislike RTS games, but it would be very wrong of me to accuse StarCraft II of bad design. We have our preferences, but it is good if we can see past them and recognize expertly crafted games even if we dislike them personally.

It's not because of bad design Brumbek their just not my type games due to various reasons. So you see I never called it a bad game. I just don't like the Soul games.
Let me put it in simpler terms, "I get no enjoyment from playing Dark Soul games".

As for bloodborne, I'm guilty as charged. My pre-order copy still sits on my desk because I'm swamped at work. I assumed ( and maybe wrongly) since its on console I won't be wowed by the graphics as I haven't been by any other console release. Not that console games can't look good but after playing PC games at max setting in 4k I can't see me being wowed by a PS4 game , but I'll keep an open mind.

Eh? But isn't Bloodborne available on PC too? I mean… I thought it is. Not sure honestly.
EDIT:
It is not:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloodborne
LOL, sorry for me even mentioning it in my posts, I honestly didn't know it's some console exclusive not interesting enough to justify sales on other hardware setups.

The Last of Us would be the most recent one that comes to mind. I haven't played Bloodborne yet, but I think it looks fantastic from what I've seen.

Anyway, Bloodborne has set a new standard IMO for PS4 RPG graphics. Perhaps the Witcher 3 will too on XB1/PS4…
