Seems very fishy if they didn't send PC & XBox One review copies. I mean what the fuck. If the game isn't ready what are they doing? I'm starting to regret them not delaying it further. I hope this is just some misunderstanding. But it'll be very awful if the review embargos lift today, and every PC and XBox One site says they didn't receive copies for their wanted platform. I'm curious what the PC Gamer site will do, if they'll publish a review. They usually mention when they do not receive review copies in time.Yes, it's really fishy that they want to improve the game as much as possible all the way to release.
They've invested everything in this game - and now they want to get the best possible reviews.
It's not rocket science.

To have them lift the review embargo a week before release, for just one platform, is a sign of supreme confidence.
You know nothing about the state of the game. They're saying they're doing everything they can to push it as far as they can take it. That says nothing at all about the state, except they believe it can be even better than it is.

Sorry but in software development it can always be better than it is. There has to be a definition of done. Of good enough to hand over to reviewers.

The only difference here is that they've allowed the PS4 version to be reviewed a full week before release.
That's rare for a game that's this hyped and with this level of marketing invested in it.
The ONLY reason - and I do mean ONLY reason - to allow reviews this early, is if you're supremely confident in your product.
What's even more relevant, is that they've held back the copies of the games, meaning you can be certain they haven't "bribed" reviewers in any way, or the actual version would be irrelevant.
If you really believe the PS4 version is, somehow, superior to the PC version - then I don't know what to say.
The Xbox One version might suffer some performance issues, but that's par for the course with these multiplatform releases.
I can't see the slightest fishy bit about this announcement, and I can't follow your logic at all.
It's almost as if you WANT it to be fishy, and you're struggling to make it so.

I hope it all works out. And as for wanting they to fail, that's pushing it. I've both the game twice (standard + CE) so I'd say I'm heavily invested in it to work out.

They're not saying it CAN'T be delivered to reviewers - that's your biased conclusion.
They're saying they want the best possible version reviewed - and apparently, you think that means the current version is somehow not complete or worthy of release.
I don't know if you believe that these platforms are identical - and that they have the same people working on the code.
If you've ever coded a line in your life, you'll know that there are always ways to optimise and improve - and that hardware will make a huge difference when it comes to finetuning performance.
If they can add that extra bit of visual detail by tweaking a few lines of code - and pushing it to the limit - that's just an added bonus.
But I guess you think that's absolutely impossible, right? The XB1 and PC versions HAVE to be unfinished and unworthy compared to the PS4 version.
I guess time will tell

I posted this in 'Off topic' because it's a joke about how the forums will be in a week or two, nothing informative about The Witcher 3 so didn't post it there, but guess somebody moved it here. Whatever works.

Haha, well, you might like TW3even if you didn't like the previous two

After pushing myself through TW1 a year ago, I changed my mind and I now consider it an average RPG.
TW2 is a masterpiece in most ways.

Every major release for an RPG looks like the thing that Wolfing put up. (good job, btw).
