Witcher 2 choices that will affect TW3.
Witcher 2 choices that will affect TW3.
May 19th, 2015, 00:38
For people who are importing a save, here's a complete list of the choices in Witcher 2 that will impact TW3.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/wha…/1100-6427400/
It's completely spoiler-free as far as TW3 is concerned, but don't read it if you haven't played TW2 and plan to.

Nice find, JDR13. I am glad to see that those choices affect the quest lines, but I am slightly disappointed not to see these among there:
Granted, numbers 1) and 3) are fairly minor, but 2) and 4) feel big enough to warrant some sort of plot change in TW3.

I'm pretty sure #4 is in the game because iirc that's one of the questions the guy asks you during the choices sequence.
#3 was Síle not Cynthia. (Or does Cynthia do that if you chose Iorveth's path?) Either way, Cynthia wasn't a major character.
#1 was never a choice.

The Sile thing is in the article, hence not in my list.

I'm very curious what happens if you choose to not simulate a save state and don't import a save. I'm tempted to play it that way to see what CDP chose to be canon.
*Edit* I'm disappointed to see that importing a save doesn't carry any items over.

Not sure about Sile… Let's say… spared. Geralt's a big softie.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect to have everything that was in my inventory, but it would have been nice to keep a few things just for continuity.

Did that affect anything else, other than your starting inventory?

When does the simulation happen? I'd think it be at the start, but I'm already running through the countryside looking for Yennifer.

It does? Wow, I must be taking it slowly this time around. I've played about 4 hours or so, almost cleared the entire first zone, and I have yet to reach it. I guess it's after the griffin thing then. I won't be doing that until everything else is finished (I like to keep the main quest on hold until every side quest is completed, so they don't suddenly become unavailable, which happens in quite a few RPGs).

Weren't you going to import a save though?

Yep, I did. I guess the conversation never happens at all then, so no chance to adjust things etc?
