Because once you upgrade them the signs can do multiple things and there isn't enough buttons to maps everything.

I mean, MMO have like 20 to 30 spells and its very easy to key bind all of them on PC. Key binds would have allowed for more smoother game play. Its not biggie but it would have been nice to have.
Just one, it's called alternate sign mode in the skill upgrade.

You folks are weird.
It's just an input device for a game, it's not apostasy. It's a $40 controller that will outlast any video card you have.

So tired of hearing the controller bs. This game plays just fine with mouse and keyboard. I can only assume that people that can't play it with M&k just aren't very good with the M&K.
I don't mean to be rude but every time a 3rd person action game comes out its the same thing. This game needs a controller, controller is better, game was built for controller, blah, blah, blah.
Yet I've played every single one just fine with M&K. Dark souls, AC, lords of the fallen, shadows of mordor, batman, the witcher's, etc and I'm hardly a M&K savant.
I can only come to the conclusion that people that say the game shouldn't be played with M&K just aren't good with M&K.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just flabbergasted at the whole games need a controller thing.
Games designed to be played with this in mind often already incorporate these limitations.
Some stuff which is a direct result of that is Aiming-help as present in shooters, animations you are stuck in, or making your character unable to do a 180° turn and instead let him run a smooth curve like in Mass Effect 2.
Therefore I feel crippled if I either have to play with a controller or play a game which has these typical limitations.
So for me this is a big factor. And the horrible controls of Witcher 2 were the main reason I didn't continue it after the very first hours even though I bought the Collectors Edition.
Of course this goes hand in hand with always minmaxing and playing the game on hardest difficulty. I love to die and fail in games. But I like to do so because I did something wrong. Not because of the controls.
In Witcher 2 they reworked the combat, I still didn't like it afterwards but I have my hopes that they will improve m&k controls in W3 as well.
